Stage 6: from Col Cumano to Sospirolo

The stage starts from the spiritual center of Col Cumano (municipality of Santa Giustina) dedicated to Pope John Paul I, born Albino Luciani, where you can stay at the youth hostel.

From here, descend until you reach the main road in the locality of Al Cristo and then continue towards the small village of Velos, which lies on the right bank of the Veses stream, whose waters were used to move the numerous wheels of many factories, mills and hammers, just outside the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. Then continue uphill towards Muiach, Maserolle and Burbai, reaching San Gregorio nelle Alpi and its parish church which displays one of the masterpieces of the entire province made between 1518 and 1519 by Alessandro Bonvicino, called Moretto da Brescia, depicting the Madoona and Child, St. Valentine and the patron saint (Pope Gregory I, also known as Saint Gregory the Great).

The itinerary continues towards the villages of Roncoi and Saltoi, with the small church dedicated to St. Anthony, passing through Case Lunghe and Carazzai until you reach the crossroad that leads to the town of Paderno. This small village is rich in treasures of art, such as the sixteenth-century Villa Sandi and the eighteenth-century Villa Beghin right in front of the parish church dedicated to St. Lucano.

After crossing the center of the town, you will reach a small capital dedicated to the Saints Vittore and Corona. Continue then towards Campaz, Oregne, featuring the small but rich church of St. Ttitian with fifteenth-century frescoes including an interesting Last Supper, and finally you will reach the town of Sospirolo.
