Villa Pasole Berton (foto D. Tommasella)

The territory of Pedavena, thanks to its overlooking position at the foot of the Vette Feltrine, is characterized by several residences built by rich and noble families of Feltre, in particular between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, which represented the high-society and cultural center of the local and Venetian aristocracy. Among all stands out Villa Pasole, built in the seventeenth century in grandiose style with a park and a fishpond, wished by one of the most influential families of Feltre that owned forests and lands on the mountains that overlook Pedavena. There are also many other villas in the area as Villa Altore, Villa Facèn-Orum and Villa Marsiai in the locality of Facen, all built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Must see in Pedavena is the Brewery, open from the late nineteenth century, where you can enjoy a variety of dishes made with the products of the National Park of the Belluno Dolomites with a fantastic beer. On Mount Avena's ski resort (1454 m), reachable from Pedavena and Feltre in about 15 minutes by car, is the perfect destination for winter sports enthusiasts and particularly suitable for families. In the summer, some mountain huts are the perfect rest point where you can also taste local products.

Going up from Pedavena towards the Croce d'Aune mountain pass (1011 m), in the Pian d'Avena locality you'll find an area equipped for picnics and barbecues. In Croce d' Aune ends the High Route of the Dolomites no. 2, also called "The Way of Legends" that starts from Brixen and arrives here after 14 stages. The village of Croce d'Aune, is a fantastic resort especially for those who love mid-mountain altitude, climate and environment. The locality offers the possibility to discover excursions suitable for everyone, such as the climb to the Refuge Dal Piaz.

Lovers of motor racing can enjoy one stage of the Italian Hill Climb Championship, organized every year in September that leads from Pedavena to Croce d'Aune, with modern and vintage cars.
From Pedavena, heading west, you'll reach the territory of Fonzaso along the "canalet" road, a pleasant secondary road between Mount Avena and the foothills of Mount Aurin (744 m).
