Cycle through mountain peaks and an open-art gallery
Due ruote Falcade e nella Valle del Biois (PromoFalcade)

For lovers of two-wheeled adventures, Falcade and the Biois Valley in the San Pellegrino Ski Area offer two cycling routes through the full beauty of some of the most fascinating peaks of the Dolomites, from the south face of the Marmolada to Mount Pelmo, the majesty of the Civetta and the Pale di San Martino.

The first of these two itineraries, called “Falcade - Passo Valles”,  stretches for 9.59 km with a total elevation of 500m. The route starts from Falcade, where the cableway from Molino to Le Buse will take you to an altitude of 1890m. A few metres from the cable car station, you are greeted by the Artists’ Forest, an open-air gallery of natural masterpieces complementing the artistry of the many sculptors and painters of the Val Biois. At the end of this short walk, you can stop to admire the “Bee House”. The route continues along the relatively level path to take you to Pian della Sussistenza. Travelling along this path leads to the Valles Pass and lodge of the same name. Pedalling towards Laresei now, along CAI path 658, one of the most scenic spots in the area awaits. Descending towards Le Buse, more experienced cyclists can return to Falcade along CAI path 695.

The second route is named after Col Margherita, an extraordinary natural terrace at an altitude of 2,514 metres. The breathtaking natural stage hosts the extremely panoramic new InAlto mountain lodge which is the starting point of one of the most stunning MTB trails. Start from Passo San Pellegrino where the Col Margherita cable car will take you from 1,874 to 2,514 m in just 5 minutes. Start descending towards lake Cavia. Cross the dam and marvel at your surroundings, including peaks like La Marmolada, the queen of the Dolomites. A nature trail leads off to your right, taking you back up to the Col Margherita cable car station and InAlto lodge at the peak, where you can take a comfortable ride down to the valley on the sky tram. This is a medium-difficulty itinerary which is 5.3 km long with an overall elevation of 440m.
