Vincheto di Celarda Nature Reserve

The Vincheto di Celarda nature reserve, whose name is linked to the cultivation of willows in the nineteenth century, lies near the river bank covering almost 99 hectares in the town of Feltre and is managed by the State Forestry Corps Department. It is a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. Situated on a plain of 230 meters above sea level it is easily accessible to hikers and visitors featuring a network of trails through the entire area, where there are also large fenced areas for animals and fish breeding ponds for the restocking of native species.

The Vincheto di Celarda is characterized by the abundance of water and the presence of species of flora and fauna typical of wetlands. The landscape features marshes, ponds, lakes and springs framed by a lake vegetation. Spruce, Scots pine, Ash, Alder, Poplar and Willow are among the most present trees. Of particular value are many species of wild orchids.
