A taste of the Dolomites
Sapori di montagna (archivio I.A.T. San Vito di Cadore)

The delicious rustic cuisine of the Cadore Area is based on simple, authentic ingredients. Main dishes include “casunziei”, garnished with melted butter and smoked ricotta cheese “spersada”, “canederli”. Game and charcuterie, such as the celebrated “Cadore Speck” (bacon), vegetables, cabbage, “polenta”, potatoes and mushrooms. Desserts include “zopes”, “péta” and “crafin a la sanvidota”. A delicious traditional lunch or dinner just has to be rounded off with “malga” cheeses served with local jams and honey and a fiery local “grappa”, flavoured liqueur.
