Valbelluna
Feltre

The beauty of the Dolomites and Valbelluna, the wide valley at the foot of the UNESCO wonders, embraced to the North by the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and closed to the South by the gentle Prealps, shines of white light when the cold season comes.

Fresh air and biting cold refreshing lungs and mind represent just the physical impact of an authentic and passionate offer that derives from the entire area and that will warm your soul!
From the Monti del Sole to the Vette Feltrine, from the Prealps of “Sinistra Piave” to the massifs of Nevegal and Mount Avena, which are its two far ends, Valbelluna is a huge open sky gym where the most loved winter sports can be practiced, but it is also a place where to discover that an active winter holiday doesn’t just mean skiing!

Boundless woods and imperious peaks are the backdrop to peculiar villages and citadels rich of art, history and culture, but also scenes of merry moments of folklore and traditional markets of craftsmanship and typical food, sculpture symposia, fairs and festivals of all kinds. Just a pinch of snow, the right clothes and a sunny day – or a romantic and magic full Moon night – to wear the snowshoes and you’ll be catapulted in a silent and pure universe surrounded by nature.

Far from the chaos and city life, slopes will get delicate and rounded, the sound of the snowshoes sinking in the snow will be the only noise you will hear besides your heart beat.
The shining snow gives unforgettable emotions between play of light and sparkles, the sleeping trees under a white cover are the only silent witnesses of this wonder, together with some noble wild animals who, curious of the human presence, show up hastily.  Every day becomes an adventure in Valbelluna, when a bit of adrenaline and a step out of the classic routine are added to the majesty of white! Beyond the vertical climbs dedicated to ski mountaineering, the beautiful loops with the cross country ski, the sledges and the guaranteed fun in the ice rinks, in winter the Venetian mountains can be gazed in a deeper and more refined perspective! The sinuous ravines and the most beautiful canyons that in the hot summers, between leaps and gushes, give some energizing refresh, in winter become shiny crystals hanged downward.

As in a majestic natural cathedral, these stalactites are “pieces of forniture” of a yet precious monument and they re-design its shapes, which from rounded by water erosion become sharper.
The “Mecca” of the Dolomites’ ice climbing has its location in Valle del Mis, natural gateway of the Park; for families and neophytes there many other ice falls easy to reach: from “Bus del Buson” to the Cornolade Fall, there are many evocative landscapes in Lamon, near the Senaiga Dam, or also in Borgo Valbelluna, where two of the most famous canyons of the area, Brent de l’Art and the Grotta Azzurra (located near the medieval Zumelle Castle), are easily accessible.

Nevegal and Mount Avena, besides naturally defining – respectively to the North-East and to the South-West – the Valbelluna valley, are two mountains easy to reach and close to the cities of Belluno, capital city of the Dolomites, and Feltre, also known as “little rocky Venice”.

More than 20km of alpine ski slopes, 2 chair lifts, 3 ski lifts and 4 field schools are the numbers that characterize the winter offer of the Nevegal ski area. Just 15km from the Motorway exit, this massif presents both expert level slopes, with the chance to ski at night, and large areas dedicated to novices of the snow world that want  to improve their skills.

The slopes of Mount Avena, instead, reach a height of 1500m and have artificial snow makers, to give winter sports lovers a perfect snow cover of more than 10km of downhills with 3 comfortable ski lifts.
Both the ski areas are in a panoramic location that overlooks Valbelluna and have all the facilities one may need: playgrounds for children, welcoming chalets and refuges for those who want a pause made of authentic tastes and serenity or a moment of relax under the sun before wearing the ski again!
